Collin Belk tossed a no-hitter as the Kirkwood Eagles trimmed Iowa Lakes, 2-1, in eight innings in the first game of a doubleheader at the Kirkwood field Sunday.

The Eagles also won the second game, 8-7.

Belk (4-0) walked only two batters and was touched for an unearned run in the fourth inning when Iowa Lakes took a 1-0 lead. Kirkwood scored in the bottom of the fourth and it stayed 1-1 until the bottom of the eighth.

Dairo Gonzalez led off the eighth inning with a double. Greg Brodzinski walked and a pinch-hit single by Ozzie Adams loaded the bases with one out.

Gonzalez scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly to center field by Angel Merced.

Kirkwood trailed, 7-6, entering the bottom of the sixth inning of the nightcap. The Eagles scored twice in the sixth on RBI singles by Wilfredo Feliz and Brodzinski to take an 8-7 lead.

Jake Triulzi, who got the final out for Kirkwood in the top of the sixth, pitching a scoreless seventh inning for the victory.

Gonzalez hit a home run for the Eagles in Game 2.

Kirkwood raised its records to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in the ICCAC. Iowa Lakes fell to 6-8 overall and 0-2 in the league.

The same two teams are scheduled to meet again Monday in a doubleheader at Kirkwood at 1 p.m.

Kirkwood's four-game series against Iowa Lakes orginally was scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but was postponed until Sunday and Monday due to wet grounds.
