The NJCAA Region XI softball tournament, scheduled to begin Thursday in Fort Dodge, has been postponed until Sunday due to an unfavorable weather forecast that includes the possibility of 3 to 5 inches of snow.

The Kirkwood Eagles are seeded No.1 in the eight-tournament tournament and are scheduled to face No.8 seed Iowa Central on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The tournament is supposed to be a double-elimination event that would last several days, but could be modified due to weather conditions.

The Region XI tournament features all eight teams from the ICCAC conference. Kirkwood won the league title with a perfect 28-0 record.
