Linn-Mar senior Perrion Scott is the winner of the Metro Spotlight Award for high school boys this week, the Metro Sports Report announced Sunday.

Scott rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries Friday night as the ninth-ranked Lions crushed Clinton, 49-7, in Clinton.

Scott, who is one of the top sprinters in the state, is averaging a robust 11 yards per carry for Linn-Mar this season. He has rushed 26 times for 287 yards with four touchdowns, including a 61-yard gallop against Clinton.

Scott has four catches this season for 32 yards and also is used on kickoff returns, where his tremendous speed makes him a dangerous weapon.

Linn-Mar hosts second-ranked Washington (3-0) Friday night in a showdown of top-10 clubs.
