DUBUQUE - The Jefferson J-Hawks claimed top honors at the University of Dubuque Boys Indoor Track Classic Saturday.

The J-Hawks scored 88 points in the 13-team field to capture the championship. Linn-Mar finished second with 72 points.

Merje Bokoyo won the 60-meter dash for Jefferson in 6.71 seconds as the J-Hawks had a 1-2-3 sweep in the event. Jacob Beaton won the silver medal and Justin Crockett took the bronze.

Jefferson also won the distance medley with Beaton, Manny Olutunde, Jimmy Itangishaka and Jason Chung sharing the baton.

Linn-Mar got victories from Dalton Gosch (400 meter dash), Danny Gorsich (55 hurdles), the 4x200 relay and the 4x400 relay. Gosch set a meet record in the 400 in 52.98 seconds.

Gorsich, Joe A'Hearn, Greyson Dolezal and Gosch set a meet record in the 4x400 relay in 3:32.10. Tristan Freese, Gorsich, Griffin Freese and Gavren Dochterman ran the 4x200 relay for the Lions.

Jared Eivins placed second in the shot put for Jefferson. The J-Hawks also took second in the 4x200 relay. Itangishaka placed third in the long jump and Cameron McInerney was third in the shot put. The J-Hawks were also third in the 4x400 relay.

A'Hearn finished second in the 400 meter dash for Linn-Mar and Dochterman was second in the 55 hurdles.
