CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The 13th-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team  swept East Central, 25-9, 25-14, 25-18, in the first round of the Parkland tournament Friday.

Margaret Micka led the Eagles with 11 kills. Ady Wintermote had eight kills and McKenzie Petersen contributed seven.

Lauren Keane rolled up 35 assists in three sets. Alexa Whipple had 13 digs and Wintermote had 11. Abbi Tunis blocked five shots.

Kirkwood raised its record to 22-16.
