SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Kirkwood slipped one spot to 10th place Thursday during the third day of the NJCAA Division II men's golf tournament at Goose Pond Colony.

The Eagles shot a 9-over par 297 as a team to fall 43 shots behind leader South Mountain, Ariz. However, Kirkwood is only six shots out of fourth place with one day left in the tournament.

Kirkwood's Sean Cleary moved up two spots and is in a tie for 18th in medal play. Cleary shot an even par 72. He is nine shots behind leader Steve Souchek of John A. Logan, Ill.

Souchek shot a 66 to take a one shot lead over David Keenan of Parkland, Ill., who held the lead after each of the first two rounds.
