Kirkwood spikers salvage split

ESTHERVILLE - Kirkwood split a pair of matches again Saturday at the Iowa Lakes volleyball tournament.

The Eagles (7-2) were blanked by Central (Neb.) 3-0, but came back to beat Johnson County (Kan.) 3-1.

Kirkwood also split a pair of matches in the tournament Friday.

Heather Poula, Erin Walker and Alicen Wintermore combined for 41 kills against Johnson County. Poula led the Eagles with 27 kills in the two matches.

No.8 Kirkwood next plays on Wednesday at Northeast (Neb.).
