Lions trimmed by Wahlert, 69-67

DUBUQUE - Dubuque Wahlert was two points better than Linn-Mar again Tuesday night.

The Golden Eagles defeated the Lions, 69-67, in Dubuque for their second two-point victory over Linn-Mar this season.

Wahlert nudged the Lions, 57-55, in Marion Jan. 14.

Linn-Mar led 33-25 at halftime, but the Golden Eagles outscored the Lions by 10 points in the second half for the victory.

Jordan Bohannon scored 24 points for the Lions (10-8, 8-5). Nic Uhlir added 15.

Dubuque Wahlert, ranked No.2 in Class 3A, raised its records to 15-3 overall and 12-2 in the Mississippi Valley Conference.

Linn-Mar was whistled for 28 fouls and Wahlert capitalized by making 21 of 34 free throws.

LINN-MAR (67): Uhlir 4 5-6 15, Murphy 2 0-0 6, Noble 1 0-0 2, Brennecke 0 0-0 0, Bohannon 8 4-5 24, Larson 2 0-0 4, Schlotterback 0 2-2 2, Halupnik 2 1-2 6, Schmidt 1 0-0 2, Brandt 1 4-4 6. Totals 21 16-19 67.
