Xavier High School graduate Corbin Woods will be joining the University of Iowa baseball program for the 2014-15 school year, his family confirmed Tuesday.

Woods, an infielder, hit .309 in 52 games at Heartland (Ill.) Community College this past season as a freshman. He hit two home runs with 31 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He also was 23 for 26 in stolen bases.

Woods graduated in 2013 from Xavier, where he played baseball, football and basketball.

Heartland finished with a 43-13 record this season. Woods was the starting third baseman.
