Linn-Mar freshman Kamryn Finley is the winner of the Metro Spotlight Award for high school girls this week, the Metro Sports Report announced Sunday.

Finley helped the Linn-Mar girls basketball team win all three of its games last week with victories over Kennedy (62-49), Cedar Falls (54-51) and Marion (52-48). She averaged 14.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in those contests as the fifth-ranked Lions raised their record to 9-1.

Finley scored 19 points in a sharp overall performance against Kennedy. She hit four 3-pointers, went 7-for-8 from the field, grabbed five rebounds, came up with four steals and had an assist.

Finley, who stands 5-foot-8, scored 17 points against Cedar Falls with a 6-for-10 showing from the field with two 3-pointers. She finished the week with seven points in the victory against Marion in a Rivalry Saturday game at the U.S. Cellular Center.

Finley made 16-of-26 shots from the field for 61.5 percent during the week. She collected 11 rebounds and hit six triples.

Finley leads Linn-Mar in scoring at 10.4 points per game and is averaging 4.8 rebounds. She also has 21 steals and 16 assists.
