RoughRiders skating on thin ice

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders lost to Muskegon, 4-1, Saturday night before 4,086 fans at L.C. Walker Arena and are clinging to a one-point lead in the Eastern Conference of the USHL standings.

The RoughRiders have a 32-16-0 record for 64 points with 12 games left in their regular season. Youngstown is sitting at 29-13-5 for 63 points with 13 games remaining, giving them a game in hand over Cedar Rapids in the battle for first place.

Muskegon scored two goals in the first period and tacked on two more goals in the second period for a 4-0 lead. The RoughRiders got their only goal in the third period from Jiri Fronk.

Ryan Larkin stopped 30 of 34 shots in goal for Cedar Rapids.

The RoughRiders will be home next weekend to host Madison on Friday night and Green Bay on Saturday night at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
