WATERLOO - Maddy Ryan pitched a four-hit shutout Thursday as the Linn-Mar Lions blanked Waterloo West, 11-0, in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader.

It was Linn-Mar's fifth shutout victory in a row this week.

Waterloo West countered with a 5-0 shutout of its own in the second game.

Christina Lincoln went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs for Linn-Mar in the 11-0 victory. Ally Johnson went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Ryan helped her own cause with two hits.

Johnson had two hits for Linn-Mar in the second game.

The split left Linn-Mar at 22-14 overall and 15-7 in the conference. Waterloo West is 18-13 overall and 15-9 in the league.
