Craig tosses gem for Ironside Apparel

Brooke Craig of UNI pitched a terrific game for Ironside Apparel in  the Iowa Women's Softball League on Sunday.

Craig tossed a five-hit shutout as Ironside Apparel blanked Emil's  Hideaway, 4-0, in the first game at Mount Mercy.

Adara Opiola, one of Craig's teammates at UNI, went 3-for-4 for  Ironside Apparel in the victory. Tawny Menster of Mount Mercy was  2-for-3 with two doubles and scored two runs. Morgan Goedken of  Wartburg was also 2-for-3.

Erin Kuba of Utah State had two hits for Emil's Hideaway.

IRONSIDE APPAREL 2

Hawkeye Convenience Stores trimmed Ironside Apparel, 3-2, in the  middle game at Mount Mercy.

Opiola, Menster, Goedken and Haley McFarlane of St. Cloud State all  had two hits for Ironside Apparel. Opiola and Menster had doubles.

KyLeigh Becker of Loras tossed a strong game for Emil's Hideaway in a  4-1 victory over Hawkeye Convenience Stores in the final game of the  triple-header at Mount Mercy.

Hailey Duwa of Western Illinois went 4-for-4 and drove in a run for  Emil's Hideaway. Sydney Robertson and Morgan Braughton, both from  Mount Mercy, went 2-for-3 and Braughton drove in a run. Kuba hit a  double for the winners.

BOSCH FINANCIAL 1

Lizzy Adams of Coe starred for Metro Sports Report in an 8-1 victory  over Bosch Financial in the first game of their doubleheader at  Simpson College on Sunday.

Adams pitched three scoreless innings and went 2-for-3 with a ringing  three-run double. Olivia Goodale of Missouri Western tossed the last  four innings for Metro Sports Report, allowing only one run on five  hits.

Melanie Rasmussen of Missouri Western and Lexi Merritt of Grand View  had two hits for Metro Sports Report. Merritt and Georgia Porter of  Simpson scored twice. Abby Carlin of Western Illinois collected an RBI  double. Lauren Watters of Southeastern University drove in a run for  the winners.

Madi Parrott of Northwestern Oklahoma State had two hits for Bosch  Financial. Meghan Gould of Southwestern had a double and Emma  Olejniczak of UNI drove in her team's only run.

METRO SPORTS REPORT 3

Parrott blasted a three-run homer to left field to help Bosch  Financial defeat Metro Sports Report, 6-3, and gain a split of their  doubleheader.

Parrott was 2-for-3 with four RBIs in the victory. Arianna Kim of  Simpson, Ashley Allen of Simpson and Haylee Towers of Western Kentucky  all had two hits for the winners. Allen had a double and Towers had an  RBI.

Towers pitched four strong innings in relief to gain the victory in  the circle. Kim pitched five innings in the doubleheader, with three  innings in Game 1 and the first two innings in Game 2, and surrendered  only one run.

Watters had two hits for Metro Sports Report and Adams had a double.
