No. 5 Eagles fall to SCC at buzzer

WEST BURLINGTON - Steven Cager hit a floater at the buzzer to give the  Southeastern Blackhawks an 86-84 victory over Kirkwood in the second  round of The Broadway Classic on Saturday.

Doug Wilson led the fifth-ranked Eagles (1-1) with 22 points and eight  rebounds. Devonte Thedford produced 18 points and seven rebounds for  Kirkwood.

Allante Pickens tossed in four 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the  Eagles. Connor Kasperbauer made three triples and scored 10 points.  Seybian Sims grabbed 10 rebounds.

Marquis Collins scored 18 points to lead five SCC players into double figures.

KIRKWOOD (84): Sims 2 1-2 6, Pickens 5 2-2 16, Thedford 5 8-9 18,  Sartorius 0 2-2 2, Clark 0 0-0 0, Kasperbauer 3 1-2 10, Wilson 8 6-9  22, Gosnell 1 0-0 2, Arrington 0 0-0 0, Appel 3 2-2 8. Totals 27 22-28  84.
