No. 19 Eagles fall to ranked teams

FORT DODGE - The Kirkwood women's volleyball team lost to a pair of  ranked teams at the Triton Invitational in Fort Dodge Saturday.

The 19th-ranked Eagles fell to No. 4 Cowley, 21-25, 22-25, 25-10,  25-13, 15-11, despite taking a 2-0 lead after the first two sets.

Kirkwood bowed to No. 18 North Dakota College of Science, 23-25,  25-22, 25-18, 28-26, after grabbing the first set in that match.

The twin defeats dropped the Eagles to 20-12 for the season.

Aubrin Dittmer had 11 kills against Cowley. Madi Wagaman contributed  20 assists. Taylor Carey blocked 13 shots.

Anna Gorsich had 16 kills against North Dakota. Wagaman had 30 more  assists. Maranda Wheelock made 11 digs. Carey blocked nine more shots  and Abbie Ericson swatted seven.
