The Cedar Rapids Xavier softball team dropped a pair of tight contests against Waterloo East on Thursday at the Xavier diamond.
Waterloo East swept the Mississippi Valley Conference twinbill, 6-3 and 8-6.
Allison Schwach and Allison Feltes both went 2-for-2 for the Saints (7-9, 7-9) in the first game. Jacey Wiebold was saddled with the loss on the mound.
Sydney Galligan was 3-for-4 and Morgan Breitbach went 2-for-3 for Xavier in the nightcap. Erin Drahozel took the loss.
