Lions lose twice at Elite Eight

JOHNSTON -- Linn-Mar finally got to play softball at the Elite Eight tournament on Saturday, but the Lions were upended twice.

Linn-Mar was beaten 10-0 by Johnston, then lost 4-1 to Class 3A No. 1 Solon.

The Johnston game lasted only five innings. Kortlan Ollinger had the only hit for Linn-Mar.  Maddy Ryan was the losing pitcher.

Alexis Kelsey had the Lions' only hit against Solon.  Kelsey Duggan scored Linn-Mar's lone run.  Lauren Swanson was the losing pitcher.
