No. 10 Prairie girls trim Rams

DUBUQUE - Cayla Renwick scored the only goal of the game Tuesday night as 10th-ranked Prairie blanked Dubuque Senior, 1-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match in Dubuque.

Adelaide Bayne collecetd an assist on Renwick's goal.

Prairie climbed into the rankings last week.

 

No. 14 Prairie blanks Rams, 2-0

Logan Rinderknecht scored two goals Tuesday night as No. 14 Prairie defeated Dubuque Senior, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match at Prairie.

Dan Brunscheen and Juan Loera collected assists for the Hawks. Alex Balta and Garrett Hotop combined for the shutout.

Prairie raised its records to 7-5 overall and 6-4 in the league.

 

 

 

Prairie boys downed by Hempstead

Evan Gaskill won his match at No. 5 singles Tuesday for Cedar Rapids Prairie in an 8-1 loss to Dubuque Hempstead in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis match at Prairie.

Gaskill defeated Alex Kenniker, 6-1, 6-3.

Vale Caro, Magui Caro, Michelle Grenn and Karleigh Schilling won their singles matches by 10-0 scores Tuesday as the Prairie Hawks sweptJefferson, 9-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet at Jefferson.

Vale Caro blanked Kylie Jonas at No. 1 singles.

Lions now 3rd in boys soccer poll

The Linn-Mar Lions have climbed one spot to No. 3 in the Class 3A boys soccer rankings, the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

Six Metro teams are ranked again this week.

Washington is ranked No. 5, Kennedy is No.6 and Prairie is No. 14 in the Class 3A poll. Xavier is ranked No.4 and Marion is ranked No. 13 in Class 2A.

Iowa City West is ranked No .1 in Class 3A and Norwalk is No. 1 in Class 2A.
