Kramer leads Saints at MVC golf

Libby Kramer led the Xavier Saints with a 22-over-par 94 Tuesday at the Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet at St. Andrews.

The Saints finished ninth out of 14 teams in the tournament.

Jordan Amelon of Iowa City West and Maddie Hawkins of Dubuque Senior  shared medalist honors at 7-over 79.

Cedar Falls won the team championship.

Duball, Bean help Saints boot Jeff

Luke Duball and Thomas Bean scored two goals Tuesday as the  fifth-ranked Xavier Saints kicked Jefferson, 7-3, in a Mississippi  Valley Conference match at Heco Field.

Duball collected three assists and Bean had two assists as the Saints  raised their record to 6-3.

Jefferson pulled within 3-2 in the second half, but Xavier responded  with four straight goals to secure the victory.

Maliki Wilson, Jon Jacobi and Ty Corrigan also scored for the Saints.  Matthew Been and Carter Ives had assists.

 

No. 11 Xavier girls rally by J-Hawks

The 11th-ranked Xavier girls soccer team rallied for a 3-2 victory  over the Jefferson J-Hawks Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference  match at Jefferson.

The J-Hawks took a 2-0 lead, but the Saints responded with goals by  Addy Hoffman, Paige Diebold and Peyton Sadilek for the victory.  Sadilek collected the game-winner with about two minutes left in the  second half.

Avery Campbell, Diebold and Elena Minor had assists for Xavier. Melody  Snow made five saves in goal for the Saints.

Xavier raised its record to 6-2. Jefferson fell to 2-7.

   

Xavier girls net win over Tigers

CEDAR FALLS - Emily Jasper, Sarah Schirm, Maddie Abu-Nameh, Sarah  Abu-Nameh and Camryn McPherson won their singles matches Tuesday as  the Xavier Saints downed Cedar Falls, 8-1, in a Mississippi Valley  Conference girls tennis meet at Cedar Falls.

Jasper won her match at No. 2 singles, 10-8.

The Saints raised their record in dual meets to 3-9.

Lansing helps Saints slam Tigers

Jon Lansing defeated Joe Schneider, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles Tuesday as the Xavier Saints topped Cedar Falls, 8-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys tennis meet at Xavier.

Alex Hinrichs, Charlie Esker, Wes Johnson and Ryan Jasper also won their singles matches for the Saints. Xavier raised its record to 7-4 in dual meets.
