Prairie boys roll past J-Hawks

Chase Bicket had the hot hand, rolling games of 212 and 278 for a 490 series that led Prairie past Jefferson, 3164-2945, Friday in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Three bowlers cracked the 400 barrier for Prairie. Brandon Wagner had a 475 and Zach Bolton a 442. Wagner also rolled a 259 high game and Bolton a 258.

Jefferson's top shooter was Christian Hindt with a 257 high game and 426 series. Zach Trcka rolled a 425 series.

Hempstead rallies past Jeff boys bowlers

Dubuque Hempstead rallied in the Baker round to beat Jefferson, 3200-3117, Friday in boys bowling at May City Bowl.

Zach Trcka led Jefferson with games of 234 and 242 for a 476 series. Dillon Maxson shot a 454 series and Michael Kilts a 417.

Jefferson led 2114-2082 after the first round and was still ahead after two games of the five-game Baker round. But Hempstead shot a 227 to Jefferson's 167 in the third game that turned the match around. Hempstead put the match away with a 248 in the final game.

J-Hawks roll high, whip Cedar Falls

Jefferson had four bowlers shoot over 400, led by senior Zach Trcka's 445, and rolled past Cedar Falls, 3141-2817, Tuesday in boys bowling at May City Bowl.

Austin Kluth shot high game of 244 for the J-Hawks (5-3). He finished with a 435 series. Michael Kilts shot a 222 game and 418 series, and Christian Hindt a 225 and 405.

Cedar Falls (1-7) was led by Shane Sears, who shot a high game of 221 and 423 series.

Kluth has the line for J-Hawk boys

Three Jefferson bowlers rolled 400 series to lead the J-Hawks past Iowa City West, 2957-2677, Friday in a boys match at May City Lanes.

Austin Kluth led the J-Hawks with a 232 high game and 444 series. Christian Hindt rolled a 416 series and Travis Nissen a 405. Hindt had a 226 high game.

West was led by Michael Weber who rolled high game (237) and series (454).

IOWA CITY WEST (2677): Michael Weber 237-454, Joe Eckrich 189-374, Trent Kreiss 197-361, Eric Vidhamali 190-345, Noah Knosp 158-310.

Trcka, Nissen spark J-Hawk bowlers

DUBUQUE - Zach Trcka bowled a two-game series of 433 Friday and Travis Nissen was right behind with a 416 as Jefferson clipped Dubuque Wahlert by a count of 2952 to 2845 in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Cherry Lanes.

Riley Smith of Wahlert took top honors with a 442 series. He also rolled the top game with a 239.
