No.7 Prairie wins soccer tourney

The seventh-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie boys soccer team did not allow a goal all day and took top honors at the Linn-Mar Challenger Cup Tournament Saturday.

Prairie nipped Linn-Mar, 1-0, in the finals.

Nermin Ibrahimovic scored an unassisted goal for the Hawks in the finals and Adam Kueny collected his second shutout in the tournament as Prairie's keeper.

Prairie defeated No.12 Muscatine, 2-0, in pool play on goals by Logan Rindernecht and Sam Drysdale. Kueny got the shutout in goal.

Rindernecht scored three goals in an 8-0 victory over South Tama in pool play. Steve Fritz and Spencer Gaddis scored twice for the Hawks (6-0). Jesse Vizzini had the other goal. Kueny and Alex Balta combined for the shutout.
