Kernels' Rodriguez assigned to Fort Myers

The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announced Tuesday that catcher Jairo Rodriguez has been transferred to the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

In 12 games for the Kernels, Rodriguez hit .171 (6-for-35) with two doubles and two RBI. With Tuesday’s transaction the Kernels roster is at 23 active players, two below the MWL maximum of 25, with two players on the disabled list.

The Kernels have an off-day Tuesday and continue a 12-game road trip with a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday in Davenport against the Quad Cities River Bandits (Astros). They return to Perfect Game Field on Tuesday, May 14, to host the Burlington Bees (Angels).
