Matt Troendle picked up the victory and Eric Loeffelholz collected a save Friday as the Washington Warriors nipped Dubuque Senior, 4-3, in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader at Washington.

Dubuque Senior won the second game, 7-2.

Troendle pitched the first six innings in the opener and allowed three runs. Loeffelholz pitched one inning and walked three batters, but escaped trouble and finished the game.

Noah Burdt, Landon Akers and Rocky Lombardi had two hits in the first game for the Warriors (11-15, 13-19).

Loeffelholz and Alex Nichols had two hits in the nightcap.

Dubuque Senior is 10-15 in the MVC and 15-22 overall.
