WATERLOO - Cedar Rapids Prairie swept a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader at Waterloo West Monday, 11-1 in five innings and 13-6, to finish in a tie for second place in the Valley Division standings.

The sixth-ranked Hawks raised their records to 18-8 in the MVC and 24-12 overall. They tied Linn-Mar for second place in the division, one game behind Wahlert (19-7).

Ty Mougin belted a home run and Mitch Adams allowed only one unearned run in four innings as Prairie captured the first game. Caleb Davison, Tyler Votroubek, Trey Beckman and Corbin Day had two hits apiece.

Beckman collected two doubles and drove in three runs for Prairie in the second game. Dylan Becker, Mougin, Tyler Butz and Davison also had two hits. Butz, Davison and Day drove in two runs apiece.

Prairie hosts Solon Tuesday night.
