Five Metro players were named to the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state teams Wednesday.

Linn-Mar senior pitcher Austin Stroschein and Prairie senior shortstop Ty Mougin were named to the Class 4A first team.

Prairie senior pitcher Brennan Hammer, Linn-Mar senior first baseman Jimmy Roth and Linn-Mar sophomore third baseman Brandt Ollinger were named to the Class 4A second team.

Stroschein was 8-1 with a 1.67 ERA for the Lions. He struck out 71 in 63 innings.

Mougin batted .423 with a home run, 31 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

Hammer was 6-2 with a 2.61 ERA. He struck out 69 batters in 67 innings.

Roth batted .417 with a home run and 32 RBIs. He also stole seven bases.

Ollinger batted .452 with four homers and 36 RBIs.

Reid Bonner from Iowa City West was named the Player of the Year.

David Flattery of Fort Dodge St. Edmond received the Lanny Peterson All-Academic Award.
