Alyssa Deuso, Georgia Sanderson and Mikaela Lengwin of Linn-Mar High School turned in strong performances at the regional diving meet in Cedar Falls Thursday and qualified for the state meet in Marshalltown next Friday, Nov. 8.

Deuso scored 424.2 points to rank sixth among the 30 divers who will compete at the state meet. Sanderson collected 380.75 points on her dives to rank 13th and Lengwin scored 352.15 to rank 22nd.

Carolyn Simon of Kennedy also qualified for the state meet with her performance at the regional meet in Clinton Thursday night. Simon scored 317.3 points to rank 30th.

Maggie James of Ames led all qualifiers with a score of 512.65 at her regional meet.

The six regional champions and the next 24 divers with the highest point totals qualified for the state meet. Ames, Iowa City West, West Des Moines Valley, Dowling and Boone also qualified three divers for state.
