J-Hawks enjoy strong start on lanes

The Cedar Rapids Jefferson boys bowling team began the season with an
impressive performance Tuesday with a 3360-3007 victory over Waterloo West
at May City Bowl.

Austin Kluth rolled a 497 series, Hunter Sturtz had a 491 and Tyler Fowler
had a 481 as all six J-Hawks topped 400. Sturtz had the high game for
Jefferson with a 266.

Cameron Walker of Waterloo West captured top honors with a 278-222=500
series.

WATERLOO WEST: Jordan Mattix 202-160=362, Tim Fratzke 136-180=316, Andrew
Gerst 238-206=444, Curtis Erickson 210-171=381, Brandon Schmitz
159-224=383, Cameron Walker 278-222=500.

JEFFERSON: Hunter Sturtz 266-225=491, Victor Baccam 211-210=421, Austin
Kluth 257-240=497, Christian Hindt 235-192=427, Tyler Fowler 236-245=481,
Noah Tiedtke 223-199=422.

Waterloo West: 2070 Round 1 + 937 Round 2 = 3007.
Jefferson: 2318 Round 1 + 1048 Round 2 = 3360.
