DAVENPORT -- Will Strouf scored four goals in the first game and Class 3A No. 15 Linn-Mar raced past Dubuque Hempstead, 9-0, in a  nonconference boys soccer match.

The Lions also beat Davenport Central, 3-0.

Linn-Mar (2-0) built a 3-0 halftime lead against Hempstead. Jon Paulson banged in the first goal 15 minutes into the game and Strouf scored twice before half. Strouf's goal 5 minutes into the second half turned it into a rout. Ryan Gingrich scored goals barely a minute apart that pushed the Lions' lead to 8-0 with 10 minutes to play.

The Lions again led 3-0 at halftime against Central and eased to the win. Eric Pfau's goal at the 18:30 mark broke the tie.

Linn-Mar hosts Class 2A No. 1 Xavier (1-0-1) Thursday at 7 p.m. at the new Linn-Mar Stadium.
