WATERLOO - Alyssa Olson struck out 19 batters Thursday as fifth-ranked Jefferson blanked Waterloo West, 8-0, in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader in Waterloo.

Jefferson won the second game, 6-1.

Avery Guy went 4-for-5 with three doubles for the J-Hawks in the first game.

Alissa Good was the winning pitcher for Jefferson in the second contest. Olson finished the game and collected five more strikeouts, giving her 24 in the twinbill.

Tori Brandon hit a solo home run for the J-Hawks (4-0) in the second game and Maddie Hansen went 2-for-4.
