Warrior girls pull away from Central

DAVENPORT - It was a battle most of the way, but the Washington girls basketball team managed to pull away from Davenport Central for a 61-40 non-conference road win Thursday night.

The Warriors (2-0) were led by forward Kandis O'Donnell's 12 point and five rebound performance to take out the winless Blue Devils (0-3).

Washington led 31-25 at the half and put the Blue Devils away in the final quarter.

Alexandra Semrau added eight points and four boards for the Warriors.

WASHINGTON (61): Clark 1 1-2 4, Semrau 3 0-0 8, Visser 2 0-0 4, Corey 1 0-0 2, Hoeger 1 0-0 2, Hartmann 0 0-0 0, Squires 1 0-0  3, Arrington 3 0-1 6, Bruner 3 1-1 7, Puk 2 2-6 6, O'Donnell 5 2-4 12, Eniola 1 0-0 3, Oler 1 0-2 2, Pledge-Johnson 1 0-0 2, Cullen 0 0-0 0, Hoeger 0 0-0 0, Levy 0 0-0 0. Totals 25 6-16 61.

DAVENPORT CENTRAL (40): Baker 2 1-3 6, Buck 7 2-2 18, George 2 0-2 4, Hawkins 1 2-4 4, Wallace 1 0-0 3, Shelton 0 0-2 2, Moeller 2 0-0 4, Light 0 1-3 1. Totals 15 6-16 50.
