MARSHALLTOWN -- Tyce Hoskins won a first-round singles match for Prairie's only win of the meet Thursday and the Hawks finished sixth at the Class 2A district tennis tournament.

Cedar Falls won with 23 points. Waterloo West, Marshalltown and Mason City all had 14 points. Waterloo West was second based on consolation matches. Marshalltown got third based on an 8-3 advantage in head-to-head dual meet competition. Cedar Falls, Waterloo West and Marshalltown advance to team tournament substates.

Cedar Falls' Roy Ju beat his brother Rex Ju, 6-0, 6-0, in the singles finals. Both advance to the state meet.
