WAUKEE — Marcus Paige collected 23 points, six steals and four assists as Linn-Mar opened the season with a 64-52 victory over Waukee on Nov. 30.

Josh Montague scored 13 points and Shane Benton added 11 for the Lions. Matt Bohannon had six points.

Waukee (0-1) chopped a 12-point deficit to four points heading into the final period, but Linn-Mar iced the victory by making 12 of 15 free throws.

Drake recruit Judd Wefringer led Waukee with 25 points.

According to a report by the Des Moines Register, Iowa State Coach Fred Hoiberg and Kansas Coach Bill Self were at the game.
