Craig Engle of Marion is the winner of the Metro Spotlight Award for high school boys this week, the Metro Sports Report announced Sunday.

Engle, a senior guard, is one of the top basketball players in the Wamac Conference. He is averaging 17 points per game, which ranks second in the Wamac Conference and also ranks second in the Metro.

Engle leads all Metro players with 26 assists and eighteen 3-pointers. He has made 18 of 40 3-pointers for 45 percent and also has 12 steals.

Engle has enjoyed outings this season of 26, 25, 22 and 21 points, helping the Indians to a 6-2 record. He is averaging 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists and has made 76.2 percent of his free throws.

Engle has raised his scoring average from 13.5 last season to 17.0 this year.
