Amanda Ollinger has been added to the Linn-Mar girls basketball rosterĀ that appears on the IGHSAU website, apparently making her eligible for Tuesday night's home game against Kennedy.
Ollinger created a stir in December when she told the Metro Sports Report that she planned to transfer from Cedar Rapids Jefferson to Linn-Mar for personal family reasons. She said her family planned to move into the Linn-Mar district by the time classes resumed at Linn-Mar, which would make her immediately eligible to compete for the Lions.
Classes resumed at Linn-Mar Tuesday following the holiday break.
Ollinger, a 6-foot-1 junior, is one of the top basketball players in the state. She has already committed to the University of Iowa for enrollment in the 2016-17 school year. She is also an outstanding volleyball player.
Ollinger averaged 17.8 points and 11.8 rebounds in eight games at Jefferson, helping the J-Hawks to a 5-3 record when she stopped playing for them.
Ollinger will wear jersey No. 43 for Linn-Mar.
Linn-Mar has a 6-1 record and is ranked No. 8 in Class 5A. Kennedy has a 7-2 record entering Tuesday night's game.
