Mackenzie Serbousek of Cedar Rapids Prairie is the winner of the Metro Spotlight Award for high school girls this week, the Metro Sports Report announced Sunday.
Serbousek, a senior, is a star player for the Prairie soccer team, which is ranked 10th in Class 3A with a 12-3 record for Coach Dave Kea.
Serbousek leads all Class 3A players in the state with 24 goals in 15 games. She poured in five goals in a 10-0 victory over Waterloo West last Wednesday. In addition, she had four goals against Dubuque Wahlert and Solon and three goals against Waterloo East this season.
All three of Prairie's losses this year were to ranked teams to No. 1 Iowa City West, No. 3 Kennedy and No. 8 Dubuque Hempstead.
Prairie hosts Jefferson in the regional tournament Wednesday night.
