Cedar Rapids Washington dropped a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader to Iowa City West on Monday at the Washington field, 14-2 and 7-4.

The Warriors (7-9, 3-6) played without first baseman A.J. Puk and catcher Sam Kacena, who had other commitments.

Ryan Siems, Ezra Reiners and Lucas Crimmins all went 3-for-3 for Iowa City West (10-7, 5-5) in the opener. Jeremy Cronk hit a home run and Connor Schreck drove in three runs.

Jordy Brown went 3-for-3 for the Warriors in the opener.

Aaron Peller and Crimmins had two hits for the Trojans in the second game. Robert Hogg and Zach Zingula had two hits for Washington.

Dakota Freese pitched the last three innings for Washington in the nightcap. He struck out six batters and did not allow any baserunners.
