The Jefferson softball team fell three spots in the Class 4A poll released Friday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Jefferson (26-6) is No.7 in this week's rankings. Xavier, which was No.14 last week, dropped out of the poll despite winning eight of its last nine games.

Undefeated Bettendorf (35-0) replaced Des Moines East (32-3) atop the Class 4A poll. Muscatine is third, Ottumwa fourth and Iowa City West fifth. Dubuque Hempstead, which split a pair of games Thursday against Jefferson, is No.15.

The other top ranked teams are Carlisle in 3A, Durant in 2A and Akron-Westfield in 1A.
