No. 9 Brian Cliff tops No. 15 Mustangs

SIOUX CITY – Ninth-ranked Briar Cliff handed the 15th-ranked Mount Mercy men’s basketball team a 108-94 defeat Friday in Sioux City.

The Chargers made 33 field goals to 32 for the Mustangs, but Briar Cliff out-shot Mount Mercy 14-4 from 3-point range.

Clay Harreld hit seven 3-pointers for the Chargers and finished with 24 points. Erich Erdman also had 24 points for Briar Cliff.

Alex Houston had 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field to lead Mount Mercy. Tre Wagner had 22 points and five assists, C.J. Parker added 13 points, and Ben Struss had eight rebounds.

Both teams are 3-1.
