Durin leads Wash swimmers in Ames

AMES - George Durin collected a pair of second-place finishes for the Cedar Rapids Washington swimming team Saturday at the Mike Wittmer Invitational in Ames.

Durin placed second in the 50 free (23.10) and the 100 free (51.30). Jeremy Throndson of Washington finished third in the 500 free (5:09.14).

Johnston captured seven events and won the team championship. Washington finished fifth out of six teams.
