Youngstown rallies past RoughRiders

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The first-place Cedar Rapids RoughRiders were humbled by Youngstown, 6-3, in a USHL game in front of 1,611 fans Friday at the Covelli Centre.

The Phantom scored four unanswered goals – including three in the third period – to win.

Zac Robbins scored in the first period for Cedar Rapids with assists by Riese Zmolek and John Snodgrass. Ben Foley and Robbins added goals in the second period, with assists by Taylor Brierley, Jacob Hayhurst, Luke Morgan and Mitch Reinke.

Cedar Rapids is 28-12-2 for 59 points and holds first place in the Eastern Conference. Youngstown is 22-13-4 for 53 points and fourth in the conference.

The teams meet again at 2:05 p.m. Sunday in Youngstown, Ohio.
