Kirkwood point guard Byron Harp has signed a national letter-of-intent with William Jewell College, an NCAA Division II school in Liberty, Mo.

Harp helped Kirkwood win the NJCAA Division II title last season with a sensational performance in the national tournament as a freshman. He  averaged 4.4 points during the regular season, but he starred on the big stage and was a primary force in Kirkwood claiming its first crown  since 1998.

Harp, who is from Ankeny, averaged 15.5 points at the national tournament and made the all-tournament team.

He averaged 11 points, nearly four assists and three rebounds for the Eagles this past season when Kirkwood reached the regional finals.
