Jonathan Scholes collected a goal and two assists Tuesday as the Mount  Mercy men's soccer team blanked Clarke, 4-0, in the Heart of America  Conference opener at the Plaster Athletic Conference.

Kevin Kastl contributed one goal and one assist for the Mustangs. Adin  Turanovic and Duarte Leite also scored for Mount Mercy.

Dane Lee pitched a shutout in goal for the Mustangs by stopping the  only shot that came his way.

Mount Mercy raised its records to 4-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.  Clarke fell to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The Mount Mercy women's soccer team lost to Clarke, 3-0, in the first  match Tuesday. The Mustangs (1-5-1, 0-1) were not able to mount any  shots on goal.
