BOONE - The 14th-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team lost to seventh-ranked Highland, 21-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-12, at the DMACC tournament in Boone Friday.

The Eagles won the first set, but they dropped the next two sets by two points apiece before struggling in the fourth set.

Kirkwood swept Longview, 25-22, 25-23, 26-24, in its first match Friday and has an 18-9 record for the campaign.

Madi Wagaman had 39 assists in the loss to Highland. Aubrin Dittmer, Abbie Ericson and Anna Gorsich had 12 kills. Ericson and Taylor Carey blocked seven shots.

Gorsich and Dittmer contributed 10 kills in the victory over Longview. Wagaman had 28 more assists. Maranda Wheelock had 10 digs.
