The Mount Mercy men's soccer team lost to 18th-ranked Missouri Valley,  4-1, in a Heart of America Conference match at the Plaster Athletic  Complex Tuesday night.

Will Hanigan scored in the 56th minute for the Mustangs with an assist  from Jose Leite to tie the match at 1-1, but Missouri Valley responded  with three straight goals to secure the victory.

The outcome left Mount Mercy at 7-5-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the  conference. Missouri Valley raised its records to 9-4 overall and 4-4  in the league.

The Mount Mercy women's soccer team lost to Missouri Valley, 2-0, in  the first game of the doubleheader. The Mustangs fell to 1-12-1  overall and 0-8 in the conference. Missouri Valley is 9-4-2 overall  and 4-3-1 in the league.

The women's match was scoreless for the first 60 minutes, but Missouri  Valley scored twice in a four-minute span to take control.
