Mustangs denied by William Penn

OSKALOOSA - The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team saw a potential victory slip away Tuesday night.

The Mustangs won the first two sets, but William Penn rallied for a 21-25, 24-26, 25-19, 27-25, 15-11 victory in a Heart of America Conference match in Oskaloosa.

The outcome dropped Mount Mercy to 18-11 overall and 8-8 in the conference. William Penn raised its records to 12-19 overall and 7-11  in the league.

Kayla Daggett, who ranks ninth in NAIA women's volleyball in assists, collected 56 more in five sets for the Mustangs. Maddie Bell had 19 kills, Mackenzie Murphy 16 and Abbi Tunis 13.

Gabi Delsing made 41 digs. Bell and Daggett blocked three shots.
