WATERLOO -- Linn-Mar will face Marshalltown in the first round of the Battle of Waterloo dual meet wrestling tournament Friday morning at the Young Ice Arena.

The 32-team tournament runs Friday and Saturday. There are two sessions each day. The first sessions start at 9 a.m., the second at 4 p.m.

Linn-Mar is in Pool B with Don Bosco, Cedar Falls, Hudson, Charles City, West Des Moines Valley and Waterloo East.

Prairie wrestles in Friday's afternoon session. The Hawks are in Pool D and they wrestle Waukon in their first match. Other teams in the pool are Independence, North Scott, Osage, Waterloo West, OA-BCIG and West Delaware.

Twelve of the teams in the field were ranked in Predicament.com's preseason polls, six from Class 3A. The Class 3A ranked teams are No. 2 Iowa City West , No. 4 West Des Moines Valley, No. 5 Linn-Mar, No. 6 Prairie, No. 7 Waverly-Shell Rock and No. 10 Mason City. Class 2A ranked teams are No. 1 Denver-Tripoli, No. 2 West Delaware, No. 7 New Hampton and No. 9 Union. The Class 1A ranked teams are No. 6 Nashua-Plainfield and No. 8 Don Bosco.

Friday's results determine Saturday's pairings.
