Warriors, Indians picked for Rivalry Saturday

Two undefeated girls basketball teams from the Metro area will participate in the "Rivalry Saturday" series of games on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Cedar Rapids Washington High School.

The undefeated Marion Indians will face Center Point-Urbana at 1 p.m. in the opening game of the event. That game originally was scheduled for Jan. 3, but was switched for "Rivalry Saturday."

The undefeated Washington Warriors will meet Southeast Polk at 4:30 p.m. in the third game of the event.

The annual "Rivalry Saturday" event was switched from the U.S. Cellular Center to Washington High School this year due to remodeling work at the U.S. Cellular Center.

Here is the full schedule:

1 p.m. - Marion vs. Center Point-Urbana
2:45 p.m. - Union vs. South Tama
4:30 p.m. - Southeast Polk vs. Washington
6:15 p.m. - North Linn vs. Monticello
8 p.m. - Williamsburg vs. Benton Community
