Iowa City High finished in first and third place in the final event of the meet and tied Linn-Mar, 85-85, Tuesday in boys swimming at the Coe Natatorium.

1-2 finishes in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke had given Linn-Mar an 81-75 lead heading into the 400 free relay. The Lions could have won the meet by winning the relay or by finishing second and third.

But City High's A relay posted a 2-second win over the Linn-Mar A team and the Little Hawks' B relay bested the Lions' B team by about nine seconds.

Linn-Mar's 200 medley relay team of Justin Arebaugh, Nate Greve, Zach Hendricks and Matthew Ramsey won the meet's first event before City High swimmers won the next seven events.

That streak was snapped when Wes Peters and Ramsey finished 1-2 in the 100 backstroke. Greve and TJ Giedraitis finished 1-2 in the breast.
