Huskies trip Janesville for 10th win

JANESVILLE - Spencer Zielke and Will Muhlbach topped a balanced scoring attack with 10 points apiece Monday night as Cedar Valley Christian defeated Janesville, 50-35.

David Sperling scored nine points, Jeremy Strutz collected eight points and Nick Henderson had seven points for the Huskies (10-7).

Nick Watson scored 19 points for Janesville (10-8).

Cedar Valley Christian learned Monday that it will host Alburnett in the first round of the Class 1A district tournament on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. It will be only the third home game for the Huskies this season.

CEDAR VALLEY (50): Henderson 3 1-1 7, Zielke 4 2-4 10, Koch 0 0-0 0, Long 1 1-2 3, Landis 1 0-0 3, Muhlbach 5 0-0 10, Strutz 4 0-1 8, Sperling 3 3-3 9. Totals 21 7-11 50.

JANESVILLE (35): Despard 4 0-0 8, Leyh 0 0-0 0, Sorensen 0 0-0 0, Banser 0 0-0 0, Watson 9 1-2 19, M. Meyer 0 0-0 0, Bright 0 0-0 0, H. Meyer 3 1-1 8. Totals 16 2-3 35.
