Warrior swimmers qualify in all events

The final two district meets were held Monday afternoon, and the Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the unofficial quailifiers for Saturday's boys state swimming meet at the Marshalltown YMCA.

Cedar Rapids Washington, which won its 49th consecutive district meet Saturday, quailified swimmers in all 11 events.

Washington senior Ian Ford turned in the top time in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 56.40 seconds. He also had the fifth-best time in the 100 back of 53.04 seconds.

 

The Warriors' 200 medley relay team qualified second.

 

Washington's Morgan Barnes qualified second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free. Josh Hughes qualified fifth in the 200 and 500 free. Freshman Jared Thorson qualified third in the 100 butterfly.

Washington's Scott Allison (50 free, 100 free) and Nick Durin (100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke) qualified in two individual events.

Jefferson's Kristian Anderson also qualified in two events, the 50 free and 100 butterfly. The J-Hawks also qualified their medley and 200 free relays.

Kennedy qualified all three of its relays.

Linn-Mar qualified its medley and 200 free relays.

Washington - 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, Morgan Barnes (200 free, 500 free), Josh Hughes (200 free, 500 free), Ian Ford (200 IM, 100 back), Scott Allison (50 free, 100 free), Jared Thorson (100 fly), Nick Durin (100 fly, 100 breast), Logan Barnes (100 back).

Jefferson - 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, Kristian Anderson (50 free, 100 fly), Lance Scallon (100 back).

Kennedy - 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, Chandler Heisler (50 free).

Linn-Mar - 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, Nate Greve (100 breast).
